Unfoliated: 'Whereas there is a bastard child begotten upon the body of An Cleg of Chatterton by one John Scolefeild of the same towne which reputed father tabled the said Child with one Alice wyffe of John Whitehead of Oldam and agreed to give her the some of three pounds fower shillings p ann for keeping of the same Child wch was payed for the first yeare & the some of 17s [illegible] on the parents of the said Child for the last yeare [illegible] for that the said reputed father is gone into Scotland a soldier in service for the parliament and the mother out of the Country yt is therefore ordered that the chruchwardens & overseers of the poore wthin the pish of Ouldham shall forthwth upon notice hereof as well pay unto the said Alice Whitehead all the arrears for the tyme past as from henceforth manteyne & keepe the same child soe as it shall not beg or otherwise upon complt made to any Justice of peace a warrt shall bee awarded agst them to take them bound to answer there Contempts at the next Sessions here to bee holden.'
