Lost one of his hands in the service of Parliament, in which he was for six years. The court ordered the treasurers of lame soldiers for the division of Richmondshire to pay Holt 50s yearly towards his maintenance by quarterly payments for the time being but he was to be referred to the justices of peace in the West Riding 'out of which Riding he ought to be provided for according to an ordinance of Parliament in that behalf'.
