Rec[eived] then by mee Richard ap D[avi]d of Penmorva one of the maymed souldiers of the Countye of Carnarvon from the hands of John Ellis of Pullhely as from the woor[shipfu]ll Gryffyth Jones of Castellmarch esquier one of the treasurers for the maymed souldiers of the sayd Countye for the years 1649 and 1650 the sume of [illegible] one pounde of lawfull English money as my stipend or pention due vnto mee for the aforesayd yeares as a maymed souldier of the sayd Countye.
