The second certificate for William Scott of Fillingham, Lincolnshire, 29 November 1658

I doe hereby certyfie that ye bearer hereof Will[ia]m Scott of Fillingham in ye County of Lincolne Labourer did voluntarrily engage himselfe as a soldjer under my com[man]d for the parliam[en]t & commonwealth of England And was also afterward in Collonel Legards Regim[en]t & in his owne Troop was dangerously wounded at Nantwitch fight & by in seuerall other batles made incapable of geting his Liveing by labour in Testimony whereof I haue herevnto subscribed my hand this 29th of November 1658.

Whereas S[i]r John Wray of Glentworth in the said County doth certyfie that Will[ia]m Scott of Fillingham did voluntaryly serve the par[liament] & com[m]onwealth of England And in the said service was wounded & made incapable of getting his Liveing by labour vpon due Considerac[i]on whereof I do hereby recom[m]end him the s[ai]d Will[ia]m Scott & his sad condic[i]on to yo[u]r care & speedy releife according to ye orders & direc[i]ons to Justices of peace in such cases. giuen vnder my hand this 30th of November 1658. and doe earnestly intreate yo[u]r assistance to him.
