Wee the Inhabitants & Landholders of Llanvarres in Yale doe hereby certify whom it may concerne that the bearer hereof William Griffith ap Rhytherch hath served his late Ma[jes]ty of blessed memory in the late vnhappy warres vnder the command of Capt[ain] Peeter Williams in S[i]r Roger Mostyn’s Regiment for the space off foure years & vpwards & that he is altogether destitute of pr[e]sent maintenance for himselfe his wife & small children, & humbly conceiuing him to be a fit obiect of reliefe we pray that his sad [illegible] condic[i]on may be taken into considerac[i]on by such as are intrusted w[i]th power for the reliefe of distressed soldiers.
