The order for William Crosby of Whiston, Lancashire, 16 July 1667

Ad Gen[e]ral Session pacis d[o]m[in]i Regis tent apud Orm[skir]ke in Com[itatus] Lanc[aster] die lune xvio Julii A[nn]o R[egni]R[egi]s Car[oli] Sec[undi] Angl[iae] &c xviiio
Whereas att the last Sessions here holden, Itt was Ordered that the Overseers of the poore of Whiston should forthwith p[ro]vide a Convenient place for habitac[i]on for Will[ia]m Crosby a poore Maymed souldier w[hi]ch as yet they haue not done alledginge that some of the Inh[ab]itants stand against it. Itt is therefore once more Ordered that the said Ou[er]seers of the poore shall forthwith without anie further delaye p[ro]vide a Convenient place of habitac[i]on for him the saide Crosby within Whiston afforessaid, And if anie of the Inh[ab]itants of the said Towne shall oppose the same, or deny to pay his p[ro]porc[i]onall share towards it, Then the said Ou[er]seers of the poore shall informe the next Justice of peace therewith who is desired to send out his Warrant and binde over to the next Sessions to bee holden att Wygan the said p[er]sons soe opposeinge or refusing to pay his p[ro]porc[i]onable share towards the said habitac[i]on to Answer their Contempts for soe doeinge.
