The order for Thomas Swindlehurst, Lancashire, 5 September 1649

Ad assies ib[ide]m: ten[ui]t: vto die Septembris 1649.
Vpon the petic[i]on of Thomas Swindlehurst being an hyred Souldier by Chr[ist]ofer Prockter of Robermdale for the p[ar]liam[en]ts S[e]ruice vpon Condic[i]on Condic[i]on that yf the said Swindlehurst should bee disinabled to labor for the future that then the said Prockter should mainetaine him w[i]th sufficient meate, drinke, lodging and apparel And for that the said Swindlehurst hath lost the vse of his right hand in the said Service whereby hee is disinabled to get his living yt is therefore ordered that the differenc[e]s betwixt the said p[ar]ties bee referred to the Justices of peace att the next Sessions of peace to bee houlden att Lanc[aster] to examine the same and to make suche order therin as to Justice app[e]rtayneth.

[Illegible] Swinglehurst vpon oath sayth that Prockter was to mainteyne him w[i]th meat &c according to the truth of the order. & Prockter to mainteyne him or to be bound ou[er] to p[er]form this order.
