The order for Thomas Still of Warminster, Wiltshire, 24 July 1648

<Wiltes s[ession]s> Ad gen[eral] Sessionem Pacis Com[itatus] pr[e]d[i]c[t]i tent apud Warminster in ead[em] Com[itatus] Quarto die Julii Anno Regni D[o]m[in]i Carolo Dei gra[tia] Anglie Scotie Franc et Hib[er]nie Regis fidei defensor &c vicesimo quarto 1648.
Whereas this Co[u]rt is informed by a Certificate vnder the handes of Liveten[a]nt Collonell John Blackmore, Captaine William Browne and Richard Hinger Chirurgion to Collonell John Birch That Thomas Still of Warminster in the foresaid County hath served the Parlyament in the Regiment of the said Collonell John Birch for the space of three whole yeeres vnder the Com[m]ande of the foresaid Captaine William Browne vntill the tyme of disbandinge And that att Gotheridge Castle he received Twenty eight greivous woundes to his vtter vndoeinge and the losse of the vse & benifitt of his right arme All w[hi]ch this Court takeinge into considerac[i]on att the humble petic[i]on of the said Thomas Still doth thinke fitt & order that there shal be an yeerely penc[i]on of Fower poundes p[er] annum graunted & allowed vnto the said Thomas Still in regard of the many woundes hee received in the said service and his ympotencie thereby to be paid to him quarterly by the Tre[asure]r of the collecc[i]on for the releiffe of maymed soldiers & marriners for the north p[ar]te of this County the first payment to beginne att the feast of St Michaell Th[e] archangell now next ensuinge And for his releiffe & mainetenance in the meant tyme this Court doth order and appointe Mr Francis Bennett forthw[i]th to pay vnto him the some of Twenty shillings out of the Counties stock remaineinge in his handes for the releiffe of maymed soldiers & marriners w[i]thin this County and his aq acquittance to the said Mr Bennett shal be his discharge for the same.
