A liste of the Maymed Souldiers w[i]thin the hundred of Buckloe taken at Northw[i]ch the iiith day of May Anno R[egni] R[egius] Caroli Angliae &c xxiii 1648 and pr[e]ferred to the honn[ou]rable Bench at the Sessions for the peace of the said Countie there houlden

Thomas Richardson borne and an Inhabitant in the p[ari]sh of Daresburie in the said Countie, Saith that euer since the beginning of theise late warrs hee was a foote Souldier a trayned Band man vnder the Command of Col[one]l Brooke and in Constant service till it pleased god hee receaved a very Mortall shott in his legge that hee is thereby a Cripple and soe like to Continue and neuer receiued anie pay since the disbanding of the Trayned Bands.

Raphe Ashley borne in Witton Streete and an Inhabitant in Northw[i]ch in this Countie saith euer since the beginning of theise warrs he was a Trayned Band soldier vnder the Command of Col[one]l Brooke as aforesaid till it pleased god hee was shott at the Leager before Hawarden Castle in Wales about 3 yeares agoe last past and vpwards in the Legge. Whereby hee is much disinabled of the vse of it and neuer receaved anie pay since the disbanding of the Trayned bands (notw[i]thstanding severall Orders granted forth by the deputie Leete[nan]ts of this Countie.
