To John Wynne and Francis Manley Esq[ui]r[e]s Trea[sure]rs for the maymed soldiers for the s[ai]d County.

Forasmuch as wee haue receaved Testimony that the bearer hereof Rowland Lewis of Wrexham in the s[ai]d County hath byn a soldier in the service of his late Ma[jes]ty of blessed memory and hath byn faithfull in the s[ai]d service And that hee hath byn wounded and a prisoner for about foureteene weekes during the late troubles and forasmuch as hee hath byn allways loyall and that hee was sent forth a soldier unto the s[ai]d service out of Wrexham in the s[ai]d County and that hee is poore and indigent haueing a wife and three children and being about sixtie yeares of age These are therefore to require and authorize you and either of you to pay to the s[ai]d Rowland Lewis the sum[m]e of Five shillings towards his subsistance till the next quarter Sessions And that you recomend him to the Justice of peace at the s[ai]d next Quarter Sessions to bee allowed a pension of twenty shillings yearly for his support in his old age as an Encuragem[en]t to his loyalty. Given vnder our hands & seales the 26th day of July 1664.
