The order for Rowland Greenhalgh of Walmersley, Lancashire, 21 February 1699

Ad Gen[er]al[is] Quart[e]ral[is] session[es] pacis d[o]m[ini] R[egiu]s tent p[er] adjor[nment] apud Manchester in & p[er] Com[itatus] pal[atine] Lanc[aster] vicessimo primo die Februarij A[nn]o R[egni] R[egiu]s Willi[am] 3tis Nunc Angl[ie] &c xjmo.

Upon reading an order made by the Court of Quarter sessions the 17th day of January in the 27th Year of the reigne of King Charles the 2d whereby the penc[i]on of 40 s. p[er] Annu[m] is allowed to Rowland Greenhalgh of Wallmisley a poore maymed indigent soldier who served his then Ma[jes]tie King Charles the 2d and his Royall father in dureing the late Unhappy Warrs w[hi]ch Yearly Pen[sio]n was thereby ordered to be payd to the s[ai]d Rowland Greenhalgh dureing his life or further order of the s[ai]d Court by the Trea[sure]r of the Maymed sold[ie]rs for the time being And forasmuch as the s[ai]d Rowland Greenhalgh hath petic[i]oned this Court for a renewall of the s[ai]d Ord[e]r. And that the Constables of the s[ai]d Town[shi]pp may pay the same And the s[ai]d Rowland appearing to us to be infirme and impotent this Court doth order in regard thereof & in regard there is not any Trea[su]r[e]r for the maymed soldiers now in being in this County yt the Constables of the s[ai]d town[shi]pp of Wallmisley [illegible] for the time being shall henceforward pay the s[ai]d summe of 40 s. p[er] ann[um] to the s[ai]d Rowland Greenhalgh dureing his life or further ord[e]r of this Court unles they shew cause to the contrary att the Next Q[uarte]r sessions of the peace here to be holden after Easter next & the s[ai]d Rowland is hereby ordered in the meane time to give them convenient Notice of this ord[e]r
