The order for Robert Ball of Erbistock, Denbighshire, 24 July 1664

To John Wynne and Francis Manley Esq[ui]r[e]s Treasurers for the maymed souldiers for ye sayd County
For as much as we have received Testimony yt the bearer hereof Robert Ball of Erbistocke [illegible] in the sayd County hath a beene a soldier in the service of his late Ma[jes]tie of Blessed memory And hath byn faithfull in the sayd service And that he hath byn wounded and a prisoner for about fourteene weekes dureing the late troubles And forasmuch as he hath byn allwayes loyall And that he was sent forth a soldier into the sayd service out of Wrexham in the sayd County And that he is poore and indigent haveing a wiefe and three children and being about fiftie yeares of age These are therefore to require and authorise yow and either of yow to pay to the sayd Rowland Lewis Robert Ball the summe of five shillinges towards his subsistance till the next quarter sessions And that yow recomend him to ye Justices of peace of ye sayd next quarter sessions to be allowed a pension of twenty shillinges yearly for his support in his old age as an incuragem[en]t to his loyalty Given vnder our handes and seales the 24th day of July 1664.
