The order for Richard Marden and John Griffith, City of London, 6 February 1674

Ad Session[em] pacis p[ro] Civitate London tent[am] p[er] Aiournament vio die Februarii 1673 Annoq[ue] R[egni] R[egi]s Caroli S[e]c[un]di Angl[ie] &c xxvio coram Will[iam]o Hooker Mil[ites] Maiore Civitatis London Joh[n]e Howell Mil[ites] Recordatore d[i]c[t]e Civitat Thoma[s] Alleyn Mil[ites] & Barronetto & Roberto Hanson Mil[ites] Justiciariis ad pacem consorvand[is] infra de[c]am Civitatem Assign[atis].
At this quarter sessions The said Justices taking into consideration severall Letters of the Lords of his Majesties most hono[ura]ble privy Counsell and orders of the Court of Ald[e]r[m]en the one made the two and twentyeth & the other the nine & twentyeth day of January last recomending Richard Marden & John Griffith who went from this Citty to the service of his late Majesty in his Wars and Long continued Souldiers and performed good service both to his Ma[jes]ty and alsoe to his Ma[jes]ty that now is, & are now by reason of Age or many wounds received disabled from any further service, That good yearly pentions might be setled upon them for their Lives answerable to their Condic[i]on & long & faithfull service. The s[ai]d Justices being well satisfyed of & duly resenting the past services & pr[e]sent necessitous condic[i]on of the s[ai]d parties & being willing as much as may be to gratify the Lords of the Councell in their said request. Doe thinke fitt & order that the s[ai]d Richard Marden & John Griffith shall from hence forward during their Lives soe be allowed & p[ai]d out of the monies collected & p[ai]d within this Citty for releife of Indigent and
