The order for John Madock of Stoke, Cheshire, 1 December 1673

Apud Nether Knuttesford xxio die Octob[e]r Anno R[egni]R[egis] Carol[u]s Secund[i] nunc Anla[iae] & c xxvo
Vpon the humble petic[i]on of John Maddocke of Stoake and vpon Reading a Certificate in the behaulfe of him the sayd Maddocke vnd[e]r the hands of Tho[mas] Cholmondeley Hen[ry] Legh and Rich[ard] Walthall Esq[uire]s setting further that hee was a faythfull souldyer in his Late Ma[jes]t[y]s service vnd[e]r the Comaund of Col[one]l Marrowe, This Co[u]rt thinkes fit that the sayd John Maddocke bee admitted a Penc[i]on[e]r att the next Vacancy W[hi]ch is referred to his Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the Peace of the Hundred of Edisbury to certifye for him hee now Liueing att Wardle in that hundred

Accordinge to the purpose of this order wee admitt John Maddocke a pentioner in the roome of George Leens formerly a Pentioner late deceased; wittnes our hands the day & yeare aboue written
