The order for five maimed soldiers, Lancashire, 19 September 1662

At Padiam the 19th day of Sep[tember] Anno Regni R[egni]R[egi]s [sic.] Carol[i] s[e]c[un]di Angliae &c decimo quarto 1662
Itt is order[e]d by vs John Starkie and Tho[mas] Braddyll Esq[uire]s two of his Ma[jes]ties Justic[e]s of peace w[i]thin the Countie of Lancast[e]r by vertue of an Act of Parliam[en]t entituled an Act for the reliefe of poore maimed officers & souldiers who haue faithfully serued his Ma[jes]tie and his Royall father in the late warrs That Richard Newsham of Forton in the said Countie gentleman appoynted treasurer of for the maimed souldiers w[i]thin the hundreds of Loynsdall Amoundernes and Blackborne That forthw[i]th vpon Receipte hereof Collect, Levy and gather w[i]thin the Hundred of Blackbourne the sume of Fiue pounds for and towards the present reliefe of Richard Harrop of Aighton Clerk, Thomas Dissborrow of the same Husbandman, Thomas Barker of Copthurst, Richard Whittaker of Burnley and Robert Brooks of Aighton afforesaid Maimed souldiers w[i]thin the said Hundred of Blackborne who haue Certificat[e]s according to the same Act. And vpon Receipte of the money that yow pay the same over vnto the p[er]sons above named by equall porc[i]ons vizt twenty shillings a peece the same to bee for their reliefe from Easter last till the now next quarter sessions to bee holden for the said Hundred. Given at Padiam vnder our hands & seales the day and yeare abovesaid
