The order for Alice Palmer of Warkton, Northamptonshire, 14 July 1664

Whereas it hath been made appeare vnto us that John Palmer of Warkton in ye County of North[amp]ton[shire] was a souldier vnder ye Lord Campden, and was taken prisoner at Burly house where hee faithfully serued his Ma[jes]tie in ye wars, And neuer since deserted his service as it hath been vnto vs made fully appeare And whereas ye s[ai]d John Palmer is Lately dead and left an indigent wife & seauen Children and haue not a sufficient Liuelyhood to mayntaine themselues wee therefore his Ma[jes]ties Justices of ye peace for this County by virtue of an Act of this pr[e]sent Parlyment Entitled an Act for ye Reliefe of poor & maimed souldiers & officers who haue faithfully serued his Ma[jes]tie & his Royall father in ye Late warrs doe judge it meete yt for ye Releife of Alice Palmer widdow and her Children the Treasurers for maimed souldiers for this s[ai]d County shall allow her ye sum[m] of Two pounds yearly & the first payment to begin at St Mich[a]ell Th[e] archangell next ensuing. In witnes whereof wee haue set our hands & seales this 14th day of July 1664. And in the 16th year of his Ma[jes]ties Raigne.
