The letter on the behalf of maimed soldiers and the widows and orphans of those who served under Colonel William Daniel from Cheshire, 21 January 1652

Hon[oura]ble Gentlemen
Havinge extraordinary occac[i]ons & beinge satisfied w[i]th yo[u]r proposalls concerninge ye Liuelehood of sicke souldyers widowes & Orphans, I take ye boldnesse to write two Lines in referance to ye Late Acte of Parliam[en]t concerninge Pensions for souldyers yt ingaged in Ireland, and Scotland, w[hi]ch is yt if the seuerall Certificates vnder my hande & seale will not (w[i]th the testimony of ye Country) be satisfactorie concerninge ye Death of ye souldyery, I shall in due tyme p[ro]cure them from some of ye Generall Offic[e]rs of ye Army.
In ye meane tyme ye Bearer Capt[ain] Houlse will shew you ye Acte it selfe, yt if it bee possible somethinge may bee done this Sessions.
