These are to certifie yo[u]r wor[shi]ps that ye {bearer} hereof William Parry of Lanroost faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie king Char{les} {the} first of blessed memory in the Reg{iment} {of} Coll[onel] Hugh Wyne & vnder my Comaund {in} w[hi]ch s[ai]d service he receaued seu[er]all {wounds} & bruises whereby he is now disa{bled} to labo[u]r as form[er]ly & that he is an obje{ct} {of} charity as wittnes my hand this {illegible} of July 1663.
