The certificate for William Greenehill of Eccleston, Cheshire, 4 November 1668

Theise are to Certifie all whom it may concerne that in the tyme of the late warrs and Rebellion W[illia]m Greenehill of Eccleston in the County of Chester was in Armes for our late Dread Soueraigne Lord King Charles the First of eu[er] blessed memory and was att the seu[er]all seidges of Namptw[i]ch  and Liverpoole in the tyme of the sayd warre and was wounded att both the said sieges & did long languish vnder the same wounds and was afterwards dureing the whole siege att Chester a souldier vnder Collonell Disney in the Castle of Chester and there continued till the surrend[e]r of the said Citty and Castle, and that hee is now very aged and poore, and a fitt obiect to receaue his Maiesties gratious allowance of a penc[i]oner within the County aforesaid wherein hee Liues dated this Twenty Fourth day of November 1668
