Wee whose names are here subscribed doe hereby Certify That William Chapman of Plimouth in the Countie of Devon, husbandman, hath beene a souldier in the Parliam[en]ts service almoste ever since the beginninge of the late warres, and about five yeares since or upwards being a trooper under Bar[one]t Drake was wounded att Broadwicke Downe in Cornwall, of which s[ai]d wound hee languished a great while, and that, after that time hee beinge a foote souldier in Plymouth afores[ai]d, under Coronell Herbert was in fight wounded againe att Mount Stanford a fort belonginge to Plymouth afores[ai]d, of which s[ai]d wound hee likewise languished a great while, by meanes whereof hee is unable to worke for his livelyhood. In Testimony whereof wee have herunto sett o[u]r hands this firste day of July Anno Domini 1648. In Plymo[uth]
