To ye Right wor[shipfu]ll ye Justices of ye peace for the County of Denbigh.

These are to certifie yow that ye bearer hereof William ap Rob[er]t of Llanroost hath verie faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles ye first of blessed memory in ye late vnhappie warres vnder my Comand, in w[hi]ch service he hath much impaired his health & is not now able to gett his liveing but by ye benevolence of charitable people & that he hath eu[er] since continued verie faithfull & loyall to ye Royall cause

as wittnes my hand this 22th Aprill 1663
