The certificate for William ap Evan Lloyd of Eglwys Fach, Denbighshire, 15 June 1663

To ye Right wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace for the County of Denbigh.
These are to certify yo[u]r wor[shi]ps that ye bearer hereof William ap Evan Lloyd late of Eglwysvach hath verie faithfully served his {late} Majesty king Charles ye first of blessed memory, a sergeant in my Company in the Regim[en]t of Gen[er]all Gerard for ye space of five yeares in w[hi]ch service he hath rec[eive]d seu[er]all wounds & bruises, in respecte whereof he is now disabled to labo[u]r & gett his liveing as form[er]ly, & yt hee is truely loyall and indigent & hath neu[er] to ye best of my knowledge deserted his Ma[jes]t[y]s or his blessed fathers service dureing ye late tymes of vsurpac[i]on & yt he is a p[er]son fitt to receave a proporc[i]on of such monies as are to be by yow distributed amongst maymed souldiers according to Acte of Parliam[en]t given vnder my hand & seale this fiefteenth daie of June in ye fiefteenth yeare of his Ma[jes]t[y]s Raigne &c. 1663.
