The certificate for Widow Olker, Lancashire, 4 May 1663

Maye the 4th: 1663:

Theese are to Certifye all to whom theese pr[e]sents shal belonge that Richard Olker nowe deceased was a souldier and officer vnder Capt[ain] Robert Hesketh for the space of 4 or fiue yeares, and alsoe was in the Contery at many battells, to wit at edg=hill at newbery at Branford and at Yoarke and other places, who still did well and manfully behaue himselffe att all tymes, and in all places in his ma[jes]ties seivice [sic.], And likewise did Continewe soe till his death w[i]thout any Change or alterac[i]on, And leaueinge behind him his poore wiffe a desolate widowe would pray all to whom theese pr[e]sents may belonge that shee may bee heard and respected in this case according to other desolate widdowes, and accordinge as those whose names are hearevnder subscribed can wittnes and testifye that this certificate in [sic.] really true
