vnderstanding by this bearer Mr Basset: Chirurgion to our regiment that you are one of the masters of the savoy hospital for wounded souldiers, I am become an earnest sutor to you in the behalf of the poore man Thomas Dixson one of my troope who hauing bin long woonded and therough hopse of his recovery and desire to do the state farther service hath in greate extremitie martched still w[i]th the troope but perceving by this gent[leman] that there is no hope of his recovery exept he be provided for in some place where Care may be had of him I haue sent him vp to london to see if hee may be admited in to the hospital: and haue taken the boldnes vpon mee therough our former aqantance to Intreate your good Word and asistance in it w[hi]ch if you please to do as it wil be a woorke of greate Charitie to help a poore and honest distresed souldier so it will very mutch Oblidge
