The certificate for Trooper Ralph Fidgeon, Thomas Horton’s Regiment, 16 July 1648

To the hono[ura]ble Comittee of the Army:

May it please yo[u]r hono[u]rs These are humblie to Certifie vnto yo[u]r hono[u]rs That Ralph Fidgeon served the state as a Troop[er] in my Troope in Col[one]l Hortons Regiment att the late seige of Pembrooke Castle and in that service hee was very daingerously hurt and maimed loosinge his left legg And receiued many other wounds in his body, and behaved himself Valiantly in the said service like a Souldier. All w[hi]ch I am obliged to attest and Certify to yo[u]r hono[u]rs. And desireinge that some Care may bee hadd of him And some speedie course taken to supplie him: I humbly take leave and rest
