Theis are to Certifie all whom itt doth or may Concerne yt the bearer herof James Pearson a Listed souldier in my Troope in ye Regim[en]t of Col[one]l Buttler, hath continued in my sayd Troope euer since January a[nn]o 1644 duringe which time he hath behaued himself uery honestly faithfully & Constantly on all occasions & dutyes Guards Paryes Scout & Centry: Receaued seuerall wounds in his body att Naseby; by reason wherof, and Extreame hard Martches & seruice ye last Winter, his body beinge disabled, he hath desyred my leaue to trauell for London to use meanes w[i]th Gods blessinge to recouer his health againe, & I doe heerby freely giue him lyberty so to do: desyringe all those in whose in whose hands God hath entrusted meanes to help him to be assistant unto him Wittnes my hand ye first of October a[nn]o 1646:
