The certificate for Thomas Sowne of Iscoed, Denbighshire, 23 April 1663

To the Right Wor[shipfu]ll his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace of ye County of Denbigh.

These are to certifie That Thomas Sowne of Iscoyd in ye s[ai]d County was a foote soldier in my company in S[i]r John Owens Regim[en]t that he is truely loyall & Indigent and hath neu[er] to ye best of my knowlege deserted his Ma[jes]ties or his blessed fathers service dureing ye late tyme of Rebellions, and yt in ye same service hee received seu[er]all wounds, that hee hath not a livelyhood of his owne, wherefore I doe hereby recommend him as a p[er]son fitt to receive such an yearely penc[i]on as by his Ma[jes]ties lawes are p[ro]vided for such truly loyall & Indigent soldiers.
