To the right Wor[shipfu]ll the Justices of the peace att the generall Sessions of the peace helde att the Castle of the Citty of Exon For the Countie of Devon
Wee whose names are heervnder Subscribed doe humbly Certifye your Wor[shi]pps that one Thomas Pearce of the p[ar]ish of Clawton in the Saide Countie of Devon Labourer was a Souldyer in the Service of the late Kinge vnder the Com[m]and of Capt[ain] Thomas Speccott who is Since deceased (together with other Com[m]issionat[e]d officers in that Regim[en]t wherein he Seru[e]d w[hi]ch could Certifie For him) and that in the Service of the Said Kinge he was wounded in his head and Seu[er]all parts of his body and therby disabled For worke and destitute of competent Subsistance and hath ever Since continued Faithfull to his trust and not deserted the Same by takinge vp Armes against the late Kinge or the Kings Ma[jes]tie that now is; In Testimony wherof we haue heervnto Sett our hands the Twentyeth day of Septemb[e]r in the Seaven and Twentyeth yeare of the Raigne of our Sou[er]aigne Lord the Kinge that now is over England &c
