The certificate for Thomas Paslewe, Lincolnshire, 27 June 1648

Gentlemen
Wee reco[m]mend vnto you the sadd condic[i]on of this bearer Thomas Paslewe, who in his service for the Parliament hath suffred much in his small estate, indeed to his totall ruine, loisinge alsoe the vse of his limbs, soe as he disabled to gaine a subsistance as formerly, His condic[i]on we can in our capacity only pitty, not releive, saue in pr[e]sentinge the same to yo[u]r considerac[i]on, w[i]th our earnest requests on his behalfe that you would by Order graunt him some considerable allowance as a maymed soldier, out of that treasury, Gentl[emen] we pr[e]sume your owne sence of his condic[i]on is arparant enough to prefer you to his assistance, Wee shall therefore only adde the pr[e]sentment of our affecc[i]onate respects & remaine,
