The certificate for Thomas Meredith of Aberchwiler, Denbighshire, 10 July 1670

Wee whose names are subscribed doe hereby Certify whom it may Concerne That the bearer hereof Thomas Meredith hath served his late Ma[jes]ty in the Warres against Scotland. And that afterwards he served his sayd late Ma[jes]ty as a souldier in England and served as Corporall in the Company of Captayne Henry Salusbury being of the Regiment of S[i]r Thomas Salusbury Barr[one]t deceased in w[hi]ch service he receaved a shott in the leg att Brandford whereby he is disabled to worke for his liveing. The sayd wound after a superficiall Cure as was conceaved haveing broke out againe this last Spring & not yet healed vp. And that the sayd Thomas Meredith continued in ye service of his sayd Ma[jes]ty in ye sayd Regim[en]t for five yeares and never served the Parliam[en]t partie. In wittnesse whereof wee have hereunto subscribed our names the Tenth day of July in the twentyeth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of Faith &c
