The certificate for Thomas Lloyd of Llanraeadr, Denbighshire, April 1677

The 1{illegible}th of aprill 1677
Wee whose names vnderwritten two of the Justices of the peace of this county doe certifye that on the Complaint of Thomas Lloyd of Llanrhayader in Kinmerch in this County made to vs that he was one of the maymed soldiers of this County had an allowance of 5 s. p[er] q[ua]rter till ye last quarter & he not knoweing of the order of sessions to app[ea]r their was in Merionith shire & was put out. Now vpon his examination vpon oath befor vs he sayth that he receaved {illegible} pr[e]sed money in the s[ai]d p[ar]ish to goe out in the company of S[i]r Euan Lloyd, And after served in the Company of Captaine Pinke & was taken & brought to Wem prisoner was exchandged & after served in Montgomery Castle vntil it was taken by the enemie, then served vnder Col{onel} Salisbury in Denbigh Castle till it was de[livere]d, And that he was euer loyall to ye king & never served ag[ains]t him or his late father, that he was wounded w[i]th a [?tuche] in his [?baik] & a wound in his hand. & maketh oath that he hath noe money or [?stertir] more then his bed & what is to gett a little meate by what he getts for his lifily hood wife & Children.
Morgan Parry sweares before vs & examined sayth that he knows the s[ai]d Tho[mas] Lloyd had presse money from S[i]r Euan Lloyd & was his soldier & that he did {a}lwayes ser[v]e in the [illegible] [?peace] & never knewe him to be in Arms ag[ains]t his maj[es]tie or his late father and was always faythfull as he beeleeus.
David Pricce doth hath makes the like oath before vs wee therefore doe recomende him {to} the [illegible] Justic[e]s as the next sessions of ye peace in this County & doe certifie that this is true & desire yt he may have his allowance {illegible} continued.
