Wee whose names are herevnto subscribed doe by theise pr[e]sents certifie all p[er]sons whom it may conserne that the bearer hereof Thomas Jacson of Aston in the Cowntie of Chester was a Troup[er] vnder the command of S[i]r James Bridgeman in the Regiment of S[i]r Thomas Aston of Aston Barronett Colonell to a Regement of horse for king Charles the first of famous memorie for the space of foure yeares and neu[e]r as yet Rec[eived] anie pay for his said servise wee therefore pray that he may be releued being verie [illegible] poore and much nessitated mee for the w[hi]ch yo[u]r Noble fau[ou]r extended towards him both he and wee shall eu[e]r pray &c
