Wee whose names are herevnto subscribed doe certifie on the behalfe of the bearer hereof Thomas Dauis that hee serued in the Lord Hoptons Brigade of horse in the Regiment of S[i]r Edward Stawell in Maior Edmund Bowers troope as Corporall for some yeares. And that hee behaued himselfe faithfully and valiantly And hath rec[eive]d seuerall wounds but espetially a wound in his right Arme w[hi]ch hath totally depriued him of the vse thereof to gaine the least measuer of a subsistance for himselfe & family by his trade In testimony whereof wee haue subscribed our hands
