The certificate for the maimed soldiers of Macclesfield Hundred, Cheshire, 13 January 1668

In pursuance of An Order of the last Quarter Sessions held at Nether Knutsford the 8th day of October last past wherein it was Ordered That I should call all the Penc[i]on[e]rs within the Hundred of Macclesfield before mee that I might certifie the Bench at the next Sessions of the names of such as did appeare before mee that the Countrey might not bee injured in paying to such as were dead These are therefore to Certifie that the persons whose names are in a schedule herevnto annexed did all appeare before mee (Except Thomas Hough of Macclesfield who (as I was informed vpon oath) is lame and William Hashall of Sutton who (as I was also informed vpon oath) was then sicke by reason whereof neither of them were able to appeare) which are all Penc[i]on[e]rs within the said Hundred of Macclesfield: Given vnder my hand and seale at Poynton the 13th day of January 1667

Since the writing of the abouesaid I am Certified vnder S[i]r John Ardernes hand That John Pickford of Bradbury a Penc[i]on[er] is aliue but very decrepit
