Wee whose names ar here vnder subscribed doe certifie that Steeven Langmead of our p[ar]ish of Torbryan was a Souldier in the Kings service vnder the commaund of Lord Warwick Moone the space of 2 yeares & 3 quarters & then being Maimed att Newberey hee lay sick & then came vnder the commaund of Gene[ral] Harris the space a yeare & halfe, & hath receiued severall hurts in his body by which meanes he is much impoverished. all which appeareth by his owne testimony & p[ar]tly by our owne knowledge. Wherefore we shall desire your Wor[ships] to consider of his condition. Wittnesse our hands the 9th day of Januarie: Anno dom[ini] 1662
