The certificate for Robert Nelson of Mawdesley, Lancashire, Michaelmas 1662

To the ho[noura]ble the Com[missione]rs for distributeinge the moneyes given by Act of Parleament amongst the maimed Souldiers in his Ma[jes]ties late service.

These are to Certify that it doth appeare vnto vs that Robert Nelson of Mawdsley in the County of Lanc[aste]r husbandman was in my Company vnder the Com[m]and and in the Regiment of Col[one]l Chisnall And that hee the said Robert Nelson was griveously wounded and in despare of his life, againse the vsu then Rebellions And that the said Robert Nelson to the best of our knowledge and informac[i]on never did desert from his Ma[jes]ties service dureinge the late tymes of rebellion and vsurpac[i]on; And that hee hath not a sufficient livelyhood of his owne; by reason of his beinge wounded and maimed in his Ma[jes]ties late Fathers service wherefore wee doe Recomend Comend him as a p[er]son fitt to receiue a proporc[i]on of all such moneyes as are to bee by you distributed Accordinge to Act of Parliament.
