wee whose names are subscribed doe Certifie his Ma[jes]ties Justices of peace for the County of Lanc[aste]r that Rob[er]t Holt of Pendleton was a soldier for his Ma[jes]tie King Charles the first in the late vnhappie wars in the foote Company of Capt[ain] Edward Ashton in the Regim[en]t of S[i]r Gilb[er]t Gerrard and receaved seu[er]all wounds at the seige of Gloster And further that the said Robert Holt [illegible] hath ever beene faithfull to his Ma[jes]tie that now is and his Royall father and now beeing poore & indigent prayes he may haue a penc[i]on as other poore maymed soldiers in his Condic[i]on haue allowed them
