To ye hono[u]rable ye Justices of ye Peace For ye County of Hartford.

These are to Certefie yt ye bearer hereof Richard Tisdell of Great Barkhamsted was a souldier under my Com[m]and in Scotland & theare receaued a shotte w[i]th a Canon bullett from ye Enemy w[hi]ch tooke away a great p[ar]te of ye flesh of his thighs & buttocks and yt by reason thearof & other wounds receaued in ye state service hee is brought very lowee & into great necessitie and is a fit obiecte to receaue releife from ye C[o]untry eyther by penc[i]on or otherwayes as yo[u]r hon[ou]rs shall thinke meete January ye viijth 1658
