We whose names are vnder writen inhabitants of the p[ar]ish of Ogborne St Andrew doe Certify this Honorable Court that Richad [sic.] Godwin husband to the bearer hereof hath beene a soldier in the late kings Army & hath serued foure years in that service vnder the Command of Colonell Apsley & Colonell Hopton in w[hi]ch service he hath he hath Receiued seuerall wounds by w[hi]ch means he is now become Impotent & not able to gett a liuelyhood for himselfe his wife & foure small Children & hath neither house nor habitation but hath beene & soe Continues very burthen some to vs the p[a]rishoners aforsayd & is not able himselfe to attend this honorable Court nor to putt of & on his owne Cloths wee therfore in the behalfe of this poore man doe humbly intreat this honorable Court to Consider of his sad Condition & to allow him some pension that he may the better be enabled to breed vp his Children w[hi]ch we hope will be a further ingagement to him & his to pray for the p[ro]sperity of the kings Maiesty & the happy successe of this honorable Court
