<Eastdeane Certificate.>

The humble Certificate of the Inhabitants of the Parish of Eastdeane in the County of Sussex

Humbly shewing

That Richard Cole the bearer hereof hath beene abroad by the space of Tenn years and wee doe beleiue hee hath beene dureing that tyme in the service of the Com[m]onwealth by reason of many Informac[i]ones wee haue receiued to that purpose, as alsoe that some of vs haue knowne him some p[ar]t of the sayd tyme vnder the Com[m]and of Col[one]l Stapley and Col[one]l Sidney in the Garison of Chichester, and doe belieue him to haue receiued much hurt in his sayd service soe that hee is vnable by his Labour to maintayne himselfe his wife and his three Children, and to our Knowledg hath not any other meanes left him to releiue his necessityes, And doe conceiue him to be a very fitt p[er]son to be relieued w[i]th a Penc[i]on if it may be granted
