Theise are to Certefie all whom it maye Concerne, That Richard Cane the Elder of Darnall in the p[ar]ish of Whitegat and in the Countye of Chester, was a Listed Souldier vnder the Command of Captaine George Spurstoe; in his late Ma[jes]ties seruise of Blessed memorye, and allsoe for the Seruise of the Right Honorable Rob[er]t Lord Vicount Cholmondeley, nowe the said Richard Cane, beinge a verye aged ould man, and haueinge noethinge to subsist vppon but the Charetye of well disposed people as wee whose names beinge heare vnto subscribed can testefie the same, is forced to Craue yo[u]r Hono[u]rs Assistance for Liuelyhood accordinge to the prouission w[hi]ch is made by his Gratious Ma[jes]tie and his Late p[ar]lament for men in his Condic[i]on, he beinge a man whoe hath euer since Continewed Loyall and faithfull to his Ma[jes]tie that nowe is, and still doth Continew, as we whose names are subscribed can testefie, Witnesse our hands, dated the Seauenth daye of July in the Fowretenthe yeare of the Raigne of our Gratious Soueraigne Lord Charles the second ouer England &c 1662.
