These are to Certify that Richard ap Thomas of Llansilin in the County of Denbigh in the tyme of the late warrs was a soldier in his late Ma[jes]t[y]s seruice, and that he hath during vnder my the space of two yeares and vpwards that he was vnder my Comand in the s[ai]d seruice behaued himself faitfhfully, that he was shott through the thigh, and continued faithfull in ye worst of tymes, to ye best of my knowledge or that euer I haue heard concerning him.

And hath not, (to my knowledge, or that I haue any way heard) receaued any recompence since his Ma[jes]t[y]s restauration; but being growne aged and vnable to gett his liuing by his work, and hauing a wife a fiue small children to mayntayne I recommend to ye fauor of ye Justices for a pension to be allowed vnto him amongst others who haue continued loyall, and the rather, in respect he hath not desired any pension while he was able to work for his liuing.
