The certificate for Phillip Phaire of Wrexham, Denbighshire, 16 April 1664

These are to certifye that the bearer hereof Phillip Phaire of Wrexham in the county of Denbigh Sadler hath during the late warrs byn a soldier in his late ma[jes]t[y]s seruice vnder the Comand of t{h}e late lord Byron in theise parts that he was ready to engage himself from the first to the last in his ma[jes]t[y]s Cause, that he hath always continued loyall by reason whereof he hath lost what stock he had and is become poore and necessitous, that he hath a wife and six children and nothing to keep them being disabled to gett his liuing by his trade by reason of a late sicknesse. That he hath had seuerall wounds and is old and impotent we therefore recommend him to ye justices fund. Dat[ed] 16 Ap[ril] 1664.
