Wee whose names are herevnder written doe certifie that Peter Hatton late of Hatton in the County of Chester gentleman hath Constantly manifested his good affections to his Ma[jes]tie and to his Royall father And was in armes at Chester when it was a garrison for his late Ma[jes]tie was one of the Jurie that Indited S[i]r William Brereton for treason before the Judges att Chester in the beginning of the late warrs was taken prisoner by the Parliam[en]t forces and for a long tyme together lay in prison and had his estate sequestered and was afterwards sould by the Act for the sale of delinquent estates. The Truth whereof wee knoweing being his Country men at his request haue Certified vnder the hand of
