To the right wor[shipfu]ll ye kings Ma[jes]t[y]s Justices of the peace for the Countie of Denbigh

These are to certifie yow that ye bearer hereof Owen Ellis of Gwytherin hath verie faithfully served his late Ma[jes]tie King Charles ye first of blessed memory in the Regiment of Colonell Hugh Wyne in ye Company of Capt[ain] Henry Lloyd & vnder my Comaund being lieutenant his lieutenant & in that service hath much imped impaired his health & yt he hath continued faithfull to his trust & not deserted the same by takeing vp armes ag[ains]t his s[ai]d late Ma[jes]tie or his Ma[jes]tie that now is or otherwise & that there is not as yett made any competent p[ro]vision made for his subsistence as wittnes my hand this 25th Aprill 1663.
