The certificate for Nickolas ap Robert of Bersham, Denbighshire, 6 October 1663

These are to certify all such whom it may concerne that Nickolas ap Robert of Bersham hath beene a souldier in his late Mai[es]tie service of Blessed memory vnder the Comand of Capt[ain] Goffs company of Foote in his Excelencys the Duke of Albemarls Regiment of Foote and vnder the Comand of Maior Thomas Maior to the Queenes Regiment of Foote and vnder the Comand of Capt[ain] Thomas Baker and that he serued his late ma[jes]tie faith faithfully in his warrs, and continewed alwayes loyall to our gratious king that Now is endeavo[u]ring vpon all occassions as Farr as was in his Power his Ma[jes]ties blessed Restauration all which is hereby certifyed by vs this 6th day of October {1663} And that he {illegible}

I doe know that Nicklas Probertt was was vnder the comand of Maior Thomas. And beinge wounded, had his discharge to come to his own cuntrey when he Recouered he was listed in the Lo[r]d Byrons Regment of Foott And in my company of Foott
