The certificate for Mary Phipps of Harmondsworth, Middlesex, 1 September 1648

These are to Certifye all whome it may Concerne that hen Henery Phippes Served vnder my Comaund in the parleam[en]t seruice in the County of Buckes as Corperall and hee is due vnto him for his sayd seruice as Corperall of Horse nine weekes pay at 17 s. 8 d. p[er] weeke is the som of seauen poundes seauenteene shillings and six pences due to be payd by the Commetty for the County of Bu[c]k[ingham]s[hire] afore sayd and further I doe serttefy that the sayd Hennery Phippes was Taken priso[ne]r with me in the sayd seruice by Bolsoll Souldiars and at Hesome fight receaue a woond in his body and after som short time died of the sayd woond and left this berror his wyf a poore wyddow with Child and further hee Lost at the some time a Horse of his owne that hee was Taken prisoner All which I Leaue to your Consideracon and pietty to his poore widow. due to him for his pay the som of } <7 li. 17 s. 6 d.>
