The certificate for Katheryn Andrewes of Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, 1 December 1650

Wee whose names are subscribed Com[missione]rs of Peace for this County doe certify all whome it maie concerne That John Andrewes heretofore Cittizen of London and late of Chesthunt in this County deceased was a man much imployed by us for the service of this State & that County aforesaid and Messenger at the begin[n]inge of our Domestiq[ue] troubles and soe continued about five yeres till he dyed in the service and in all that time we found him very faithfull to the Parliam[en]t and true to his trust and very active & serviceable. And we further Certify that the Widow of the said John Andrewes is a poore old & lame woeman and hath a Child and is an obiect of Charity and pitty, soe longe as she could otherwise make shift, and able to stirre about for a beinge was unwilling to be burthensome to any In testimony wher[e]of we haue subscribed o[u]r hands at Hertf[ord] this First day of December A[nn]o D[omi]ni 1650.
