To the Honorable Justices of the peace att the Castle of Exon Humbly sheweth
Wee the Minister Churchwardens overseers & other Inhabitants of the parrish of Northmolton doe certify that John Zeale the bearer hereof hath as wee haue been crediblely informed heretofore fully informed this Honorable Courte by certifycate under the hand of S[i]r Ames Pollard Barranett been a Souldier vnder his com[m]and in the late vnhappy Wars in the service of King Charles the first & therein did receiue seueall Woundes & growen aged is altogeather by meanes thereof become impotent & vncapable of geting his liuelyhood Humbly Craues the assistance of this Honorable Court by ading to his former stipend for which he shal be ever bound to pray; or else must wholly relay himself on the parrish for support & releife from which he receiues assitance at pr[e]sent, Witness o[u]r handes this Sixth of Aprill Anoq[ue] Dom[ini] 1700
