Wee, the Minister Churchwardens and the Overseers of the Poore of the Parish of Newbottle cum membris doe humbly certify that John Sutton al[ia]s Gibbins of Charlton in the said Parish, the bearer hereof, did serve his late Majesty King Charls the first in his wars; and particularly in his Garrison at Banbury; and that the said John Sutton al[ia]s Gibbins is a poor and Indigent person.
